Note from your leadership:
August 12, 2008
In July, at your wisconsin Chapter Board of Directors held their annual retreat. This year they embarked on revising and refining the
Chapter’s goals and areas of focus for the next several years.
The WIAAP will use quality improvement as a pervasive theme in all our endeavors.
Two board of directors members for each area have been assigned to put together a draft Balanced Score Card.
These will be guiding our efforts over the next 2-3 years.
The focus areas with their board of directors champions are:
Medical Home (Mala Mathur & John Meurer)
Mental Health (James Meyer & Luann Moraski)
Obesity (David Bernhardt & Jeff Britton)
Profession and Practice of Pediatrics (Jim Conway & Tim Corden)
Of course there are many other concerns, such as dental/oral health care, emergency care and disaster preparedness, immunization and
infectious disease, to name a few. The Wisconsin Chapter will continue to work in these areas as well through our extensive
committee structure.
Please address any questions to a committee chair listed at
http://www.wisaap.org/committees.html, to me or to our Executive Director,
Kia LaBracke. The more Wisconsin pediatricians we hear from, the better the Chapter can represent you and your patients, both within
the Acadmey and to the people and government of the state of Wisconsin.
